Please join us for a panel discussion on 24 August 2023 on the topic of marine recoveries in the marine and transport context.
We’ll be joined by experts Mark Peters (APAC, Aus & NZ Marine Claims Manager at Chubb), Andrew Tulloch (Partner, Collin Biggers & Paisley), Fairooz Khadiwala (marine surveyor, Australian Claims Settling Services) and Sarah Kennedy (Senior Claims Executive, Gallagher) for a multi-perspective industry discussion on recoveries.
This session is a must for anyone new to marine and transport insurance as well as those more experienced looking for a refresher on the current state of play of this important area of claims management. The spectrum of experience from the panellists will have relevance to everyone from claims, underwriting/risk management, broking, surveying and legal.
Our panellists
Sarah Kennedy has worked in the industry 8 years with 2 years specialising in Marine Cargo. She currently works at Arthur J Gallagher as a Senior Claims Executive. Sarah advocates on a broad spectrum of claims for Gallagher clients, including but not limited to ISR, property, public and products liability, contract works, domestic home, travel & marine – requiring a comprehensive understanding of insurance policies and contracts.
Mark Peters has worked in insurance claims for over 25 years and was at Chubb Insurance in Melbourne from 2004 to 2021 –which included 13 years as Marine Claims Manager for Australia. His last role was International Recovery Director for 52 countries. Mark was Recovery and Settlement Manager at NTI in Marine and Heavy Motor in 2021 and 2022 and returned to Chubb as Asia Pacific Marine Claims Manager in January this year. He is a Swans supporter and favourite TV show is Get Smart.
Andrew Tulloch is a partner at Colin Biggers & Paisley who has been involved with marine recovery work for more than 40 years. He has acted for Australian and overseas insurers and insureds and has experience in handling claims in all Australian states and in both State and Federal courts. He is a Life Member of the Melbourne Marine Insurance Forum.
Fairooz Khadiwala commenced as a Marine Surveyor in 2004 with Australian Claims Settling Services P/L and specialise in all facets of cargo claims relating to inland, sea and air transit losses. Fairooz has completed his Marine Surveyor’s Course, has a Diploma in Financial Services – Loss Adjusting, is a Senior Associate (CIP) of ANZIIF, is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Marine Surveyors and Affiliate of the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters.
